Presentation

Each film coated tablet contains Zinc sulfate monohydrate BP 27.45mg (eq. to 10 mg Elemental Zinc), Thiamine Mononitrate (B.) BP 5 mg, Riboflavin BP 2.75mg, Pyridoxine HCI BP 2 mg & Nicotinamide BP 20 mg.

Description

Alovit BZ is a combined preparation of zinc and vitamin B complex (e.g., Thiamine, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine and Nicotinamide). Zinc is necessary to maintain a healthy immune system in children. It ensures normal physical growth & development of reproductive organ in children. It is also necessary for the growth and maintenance of muscles. Vitamin B complex is important metabolic agent and needed to release energy from food. They play an important role in ensuring healthy brain & nerve functions and red blood cell formation in children & adults. They are specially needed for normal growth and development of children.

Indication

Alovit BZ is indicated for the treatment and prevention of Zinc and vitamin B deficiencies.

Dose And Administration

Children (under 10 kg): 1 tablet daily after meal or as recommended by the registered physician.

Children (10-30 kg): 1 tablet 3 times daily after or as recommended by the registered physician.

Adults and children (Over 30 kg): 1-2 tablets 3 times daily after meal or as recommended by the registered Physician.

Side Effect

a) Common: Generally, well tolerated.

b) Rare: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset may occur.

Warning & Precaution

In acute renal failure zinc accumulation may occur; so dosage adjustment is needed. It is not intended for treatment of severe specific deficiencies.

Contraindication

It is contraindicated in individual known to be hypersensitive to any of its active ingredients. 

Use In Pregnancy And Lactation

Alovit BZ can be used in pregnancy and lactation.

Packaging

Each glass bottle contains 30 tablets.

Drug Interaction

a) With Medicine: Concomitant intake of a tetracycline and zinc decrease the absorption of both the tetracycline and zinc. Similarly, concomitant administration of zinc and quinolone may also decrease the absorption of both. Concomitant intake of penicillamine and zinc may depress absorption of zinc. As little as 5mg pyridoxine daily can decrease the efficiency of levodopa in the treatment of Parkinsonism.

b) With Food: Should not co-administered with food. Taking with food may decrease absorption of Alovit BZ.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea, vomiting, dizziness, convulsions and coma after apparent recovery. In case of overdose one should seek emergency medical attention.
